FAO Expert Conducted Training at the Agricultural State Laboratory to Support the Development of Aquaculture
As part of the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD IV), and at the invitation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), food safety expert Benoit Glaude conducted another working visit to the Agricultural State Laboratory to support the strengthening of Georgia’s aquaculture sector and the development of laboratory capabilities.
During the visit, a five-day theoretical and practical training was held at the Food Testing Department of the Agricultural State Laboratory. Together with the expert, Laboratory specialists discussed ways to strengthen laboratory capabilities in the field of antibiotic residue testing and became familiar with modern testing methodologies.
Cooperation with international experts contributes to improving laboratory testing methods and introducing modern methodologies into practice. This, in turn, supports the development of laboratory capabilities and the implementation of testing tailored to the needs of Georgia’s aquaculture sector.
