About Us

The LEPL State Laboratory of Agriculture operates under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. As a laboratory of international standards, it plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and quality of Georgia's agricultural sector.

Core Areas of Activity
The laboratory's primary functions encompass:

- Food Safety Research: Conducting comprehensive analyses to ensure the safety and quality of food products.

- Plant Pest Diagnostics: Identifying and diagnosing harmful organisms affecting plant health.

- Animal Disease Diagnostics: Detecting and diagnosing diseases in animals to prevent outbreaks and ensure animal health.

Laboratory Network
The laboratory maintains a widespread network across Georgia, including:

Central Laboratories: Located in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, and Akhaltsikhe.

Regional Laboratories: Situated in Gori, Marneuli, Dusheti, Gurjaani, Ambrolauri, Ozurgeti, Zugdidi, Batumi, Sachkhere, and Mestia.

All laboratories are accredited in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017/2018. Furthermore, the institution has implemented a quality management system compliant with ISO 9001:2015.

Technological Capabilities
Equipped with advanced technologies, the laboratory conducts high-precision, on-site diagnostics efficiently. Continuous updates to methodologies ensure alignment with internationally recognized standards.

Research and Professional Development
