A Representative of the Agricultural State Laboratory Familiarized Themselves with GMO/LMO Testing Practices at Türkiye’s National Reference Laboratories
The Deputy Director of the Agricultural State Laboratory, Ana Gulbani, visited the National Reference Laboratories in Istanbul and Ankara to exchange experience and learn about best practices in the field of genetically modified organism (GMO/LMO) testing.
During the visit, particular attention was paid to the planning of laboratory infrastructure required for GMO/LMO testing and the organization of the working environment. The parties discussed the functional allocation of laboratory spaces, workflow organization, biosafety requirements, and practices for the efficient management of testing processes.
The meetings also covered modern methods for GMO/LMO testing and areas for developing the relevant laboratory capabilities.
Learning about the practices of Türkiye’s National Reference Laboratories is important for the Agricultural State Laboratory as it develops modern infrastructure and an appropriate working environment for GMO/LMO testing.
The exchange of international experience and strengthening of professional cooperation will contribute to the development of the Laboratory’s research and technical capabilities, the introduction of modern approaches, and the alignment of its laboratory activities with international practices.
