Specialists from the State Laboratory of Agriculture Met with Beekeepers in the Village of Mukuri
The State Laboratory of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Agricultural Scientific-Research Center, held an information meeting with beekeepers in the village of Mukuri, Chkhorotsku Municipality. The meeting aimed to provide beekeepers with information on the prevention and timely diagnosis of bee diseases, as well as the quality testing of honey.
Specialists from the State Laboratory of Agriculture provided participants with detailed information on the most common bee diseases, their detection, and the importance of laboratory testing. Particular attention was paid to the importance of maintaining the health of bee colonies, which has a direct impact on honey quality.
Representatives of the Agricultural Scientific-Research Center spoke to beekeepers about the importance of developing breeding farms, the need to preserve the genetic resources of the Georgian bee, and ongoing activities in this field.
Beekeepers shared their experience, practical challenges, and needs with the speakers.
It is noteworthy that Mukuri honey is a unique product produced by the Caucasian Mountain Gray bee (Megrelian population). The prevention of bee diseases is important for the development of the sector and the production of high-quality honey.
Joint information meetings organized by the State Laboratory of Agriculture and the Agricultural Scientific-Research Center will continue in the future. Meetings of this kind contribute to raising awareness among sector representatives and supporting the development of agriculture.
