Plant Pest Diagnostics Capacity Strengthened at the Batumi Regional Laboratory of the State Laboratory of Agriculture
A working meeting was held at the Batumi Regional Laboratory of the State Laboratory of Agriculture, attended by Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili, and Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture, Irakli Guledani.
Participants discussed the laboratory's current capabilities, ongoing research, and future development plans. The Deputy Minister and the Director toured the facility, which is equipped with modern diagnostic technologies.
“Strengthening the phytosanitary direction will enable timely diagnostics in the Adjara region, ensuring that the local population receives accurate and prompt test results. The laboratory now operates with state-of-the-art equipment and internationally accredited methods, which guarantees the reliability of its findings. Moreover, this advancement supports the implementation of state control measures and contributes to the production of high-quality agricultural products,” noted Deputy Minister Pavliashvili.
It is important to highlight that the Batumi Regional Laboratory is accredited under ISO/IEC 17025, meeting the highest international standards. The results produced by the laboratory are recognized as valid and reliable both nationally and internationally.
