Specialists from the State Laboratory of Agriculture Conducted a Working Visit to the United Kingdom

As part of an official visit, representatives of the State Laboratory of Agriculture held a series of working meetings at the Pirbright Institute, home to the World Reference Laboratory for Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), designated by both the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).

During the meetings, the host institution's leadership and specialists delivered presentations on serological and molecular diagnostic techniques, as well as the quality management systems applied in FMD diagnostics.

Georgian specialists also visited the WOAH World Reference Laboratory for Turkey Disease, where discussions were held on the structure and implementation of proficiency testing. Participants exchanged insights on best practices, recent advancements, and collaborative approaches in disease diagnostics.

The State Laboratory of Agriculture continues to actively collaborate with international organizations, fostering stronger ties between professionals and advancing scientific cooperation.

The Georgian delegation included Davit Parkosadze, Deputy Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture; Tea Enukidze, Quality Manager; and Nino Vepkhvadze, Molecular Biology Specialist.
