Meeting Held with Plastic Bag Manufacturers and Importers
Deputy Ministers of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili and Kakha Kakabadze, held a working meeting with plastic bag manufacturers and importers.
It was highlighted that Georgia now has the capacity to conduct studies on the degree of plastic degradation and the presence of metals in plastic materials. With state support, a modern standards laboratory has been established, where testing is carried out using accredited methodologies.
Beginning in April, the government will initiate monitoring to ensure compliance with regulations concerning plastic and biodegradable bags.
