Representatives of the State Laboratory of Agriculture, within the study visit to Trabzon, studied the methods of diagnosing fish diseases.
Specialists from the Animal Diseases Diagnostics Department examined the study methodology in the field of fish virological, parasitic, and bacterial diseases, in accordance with international standards. Specialists received instruction in theory as well as in practice.
The training was held at the Central Fisheries Research Institute of Trabzon. A number of laboratory personnel attended the lectures, including Marine Nikolaishvili, the head of the bacteriology laboratory; Irma Beradze, the main specialist; Gaga Osiashvili, the head of pathology and parasitology; Tamar Baisonashvili, the main specialist of the serology laboratory; and Elene Tshvaradze, the specialist of the bacteriology laboratory.
The meetings held in Trabzon were also attended by representatives of the agencies included in the system of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, the National Food Agency and the National Environment Agency.It should be noted that the State Laboratory of Agriculture actively cooperates with international organizations. A number of important projects are planned to be implemented within the framework of cooperation.
