The State Laboratory of Agriculture operates under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia
The State Laboratory of Agriculture is successfully operating within the Ministry's system, which complies with all rules established within the context of the current epidemiological difficulties. The laboratory is a great facility with significant responsibilities.
The three primary areas of activity at the lab are the diagnosis of animal diseases, food research and the diagnostic of plant pests.
Across Georgia, the laboratory network includes 13 laboratories with international ISO 17025 accreditation and 9001:2015 quality management system.
As of 2020:
• The State Laboratory of Agriculture of LSI successfully passed the national accreditation, the laboratory meets the requirements of the Georgian standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017/2018;
• 62 new, accredited research methods were introduced in the laboratory;
• Laboratory employees have successfully passed international qualification tests;
• 306,477 samples entered the laboratory and 352,870 studies were conducted.
