The Department of Plant Pests Diagnostics of the State Laboratory of Agriculture has successfully passed the international qualification test.

The qualifying test was about the identification of nematode species. The results of the laboratory are 100% consistent with the expected results and are evaluated as successful.

The qualification testing (PT) was organized by the Central Institute of Agricultural Supervision and Testing of the Czech Republic (UKZUZ), the Department of Qualification Testing Programs in Brno, in cooperation with the Department of Plant Pest Diagnosis of the City of Olomouc and the Czech National Reference Laboratory (NRL).

The Central Institute of Agricultural Supervision and Testing (UKZUZ), in accordance with special laws, carries out expert and test work at the international level, as well as control and monitoring measures in the field of protection from harmful organisms and plant protection. Qualification testing is based on species-level identification of nematode cysts of the genus Globodera by morphological, morphometric and PCR methods.

The purpose of qualification testing is to prove that the laboratory can accurately identify the regulated organisms: potato cyst nematodes Globodera rostochiensis and G. pallida. The mentioned request was fulfilled 100% by the State Laboratory of Agriculture.

It is important to note that the staff of the State Laboratory of Agriculture successfully passes professional qualification tests every year. The research methods available in the laboratory are internationally accredited.
